Company History

■1980~1989 Establishment - ferrofluid technology at our core
1980Sep Established in Minato ward, Tokyo for the purpose of import and sale of computer seals, vacuum seals, and ferrofluids.
1982Dec Completed Chiba plant in Yokaichiba, Chiba prefecture.
1988Apr Commenced manufacture of ferrofluids at Chiba plant.
1989Mar Completed Kamaishi plant in Kamaishi, Iwate prefecture.
■1990~1999 Growth - actively expanding offshore.
1991Jul Established Nippon Ferrofluidics America Corporation
(now Ferrotec (USA) Corporation) in Massachusetts, U.S.A.
1992Jan Established Hangzhou Dahe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd.
in Hangzhou, China.
1993Dec Relocated corporate headquarters to Taito ward, Tokyo.
1995May Established Shanghai Shenhe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd.
in Shanghai, China, and started producing thermoelectric module material.
Oct On the occasion of the company’s 15th anniversary, changed company name from Nippon Ferrofluidics to Ferrotec Corporation.
1996Oct Listed stock on JASDAQ.
1997Jul Established Ferrotec Corporation Singapore Pte, Ltd.
1998Jul Took an equity interest in GSQ Co., Ltd.
and changed its name to Ferrotec GSQ Corporation.
Jul Established Ferrotec Quartz Corporation.
Oct Established Ferrotec Precision Corporation.
1999Nov Acquired Ferrofluidics Corporation in a takeover bid
(made a wholly-owned subsidiary in Jan 2000).
■2000~2009 Establish new revenue bases for further growth
2000Feb Completed new plant, Hangzhou, China.
2001Jan Merger of Ferrotec GSQ Corporation and Ferrotec Quartz Corporation.
Mar Acquired Isawa Tsushin Co., Ltd., now Ferrocom Corporation.
Oct Relocated corporate headquarters to Kyobashi, Tokyo.
2002Feb Acquired new subsidiary, Technosilicon Corporation.
Sep Established Diacelltec Corporation in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd.
Oct Established Romanian subsidiary, Ferrotec Engineering SRL.
2003Jan Merged Ferrocom Corporation and Ferrotec Precision Corporation as Ferrotec Precision Corporation.
Nov Technology and capital alliance with Aliontek Corporation.
2004Jul Executed exclusive supply agreement for vacuum seals with German affiliate of U.S. firm, Applied Films.
Oct Acquired vacuum seal sales rights from Advanced Fluid Systems of the U.K.
2005Mar Split off machine assembling division and established

Apr Merged with Ferrotec Quartz Corporation.
Jul Acquired Integrated Materials, Inc., U.S.A.
Sep Ferrotec, its Chinese subsidiary, and Covalent Materials Corporation established a joint venture company, Hangzhou Jingxin Technology Co., Ltd.
2011Apr Established Ferrotec (Tianjin) Technology Co.,Ltd.,
Ferrotec (Ningxia) New Energy Co., Ltd and Ferrotec (Ningxia) Advanced Quartz Material Co., Ltd.
May Relocated corporate headquarters to Nihonbashi, Tokyo.

Dec Ferrotec (Ningxia) Semiconductor Co., Ltd. was established in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China.
2016Jul Acquired Asahi Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
Dec Ferrotec (Dalian) Technology Co., Ltd. was established in Dalian, Liaoning Province, People's Republic of China.
2017Apr Ferrotec Corporation (the trading name was changed from Ferrotec Corporation split preparation company) took over the manufacture and sales businesses due to the absorption-type company split, and the trading name was changed to Ferrotec Holdings.
Sep Hangzhou Semiconductor Wafer Co., Ltd. was established in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China.
Dec Ferrotec Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. was established in Tongling, Anhui Province, People's Republic of China.
2018Mar Ferrotec (Jiangsu) Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. was established in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China.
