Company History

■1980～1989 Establishment - ferrofluid technology at our core
1980 Sep Established in Minato ward, Tokyo for the purpose of import and sale of computer seals, vacuum seals, and ferrofluids.
1982 Dec Completed Chiba plant in Yokaichiba, Chiba prefecture.
1988 Apr Commenced manufacture of ferrofluids at Chiba plant.
1989 Mar Completed Kamaishi plant in Kamaishi, Iwate prefecture.
■1990～1999 Growth - actively expanding offshore.
1991 Jul Established Nippon Ferrofluidics America Corporation
(now Ferrotec (USA) Corporation) in Massachusetts, U.S.A.
1992 Jan Established Hangzhou Dahe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd.
in Hangzhou, China.
1993 Dec Relocated corporate headquarters to Taito ward, Tokyo.
1995 May Established Shanghai Shenhe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd.
in Shanghai, China, and started producing thermoelectric module material.
Oct On the occasion of the company’s 15th anniversary, changed company name from Nippon Ferrofluidics to Ferrotec Corporation.
1996 Oct Listed stock on JASDAQ.
1997 Jul Established Ferrotec Corporation Singapore Pte, Ltd.
1998 Jul Took an equity interest in GSQ Co., Ltd.
and changed its name to Ferrotec GSQ Corporation.
Jul Established Ferrotec Quartz Corporation.
Oct Established Ferrotec Precision Corporation.
1999 Nov Acquired Ferrofluidics Corporation in a takeover bid
(made a wholly-owned subsidiary in Jan 2000).
■2000～2009 Establish new revenue bases for further growth
2000 Feb Completed new plant, Hangzhou, China.
2001 Jan Merger of Ferrotec GSQ Corporation and Ferrotec Quartz Corporation.
Mar Acquired Isawa Tsushin Co., Ltd., now Ferrocom Corporation.
Oct Relocated corporate headquarters to Kyobashi, Tokyo.
2002 Feb Acquired new subsidiary, Technosilicon Corporation.
Sep Established Diacelltec Corporation in a joint venture with Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd.

Oct Acquired vacuum seal sales rights from Advanced Fluid Systems of the U.K.
2005 Mar Split off machine assembling division and established

2016 Jul Acquired Asahi Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
Dec Ferrotec (Dalian) Technology Co., Ltd. was established in Dalian, Liaoning Province, People's Republic of China.
2017 Apr Ferrotec Corporation (the trading name was changed from Ferrotec Corporation split preparation company) took over the manufacture and sales businesses due to the absorption-type company split, and the trading name was changed to Ferrotec Holdings.
